What to do if . . .

If you miss a class

Anytime that you are absent, contact the school at one of our contact numbers. We will try to let you know what we covered in class. It has been our experience that students who miss one week of class can usually catch up the following week. Go ahead and come to the next class session. Remind the teacher that you were absent from the last class and discuss with them what went on. Participate in the class as usual and at the end of class discuss with the teacher whether or not you should have a makeup lesson. If you both agree that a makeup is necessary the teacher may schedule a separate time for a 1/2 hour private lesson with you. As teachers, we can only schedule these kinds of lessons around our regular schedules so they may be a bit hard to work in. The cost for this lesson is not covered by you tuition fee and it is up to the teacher whether or not they will charge you an extra fee for this lesson.

If you know in advance that you will be missing 2 or more consecutive weeks and want to make an adjustment in your tuition payment we can do that. You must give us written notice at least a week in advance. You can mail, email or fax your notice to us but we must receive it before your absence in order to qualify for any sort of tuition reduction. It is not enough to just tell the teacher. If we do not receive that notice you will be held liable for the full tuition fee.

Students who miss two or more consecutive classes may need a little extra help. If that is the case, the student (or parent) may need to schedule a makeup lesson with the teacher. Again, your tuition fee does not cover these lessons and it is up to the teacher whether or not they will charge you an extra fee for this lesson.

If we cancel a class

If we cancel a class for any reason we will make it up or give you a credit of $15 on your next enrollment. We will do our best to reschedule but if we cannot find a time that is agreeable for all members of the class we will proceed with the tuition credit.

To withdraw from class

If you attend the first class and decide not to continue you must notify the office of the school at least 4 days prior to the second class to receive a full refund of the tuition. If you attend the first and second classes and then decide not to continue you must notify the office of the school at least 4 days prior to the third class to receive a partial refund of the tuition. (Less $45 processing and class fee.) No refund is given after 4 days prior to the third class. If you do not notify us but simply stop coming to class you will be held liable for the full tuition. Credits for future classes can be given instead of refunds but they must be used at the next enrollment period or they are forfeited. There are no refunds on the materials.

Official notification of withdrawal can be done over the phone but must be followed by written notice. Use the numbers and addresses listed on our contact page for notification.
