Picking Up Your Child: Late Pick-Up Policy

We have had problems with students not being picked up until 20 or more minutes after class. This is really hard for us as we do not want to let them out of our sight until we see the parents but we must begin teaching the next class or private student on time. Also, we often need to walk over to neighboring schools to pick up or drop off students and if your child is still with us then we have too much to coordinate. Especially as new people are coming on staff it is important that we find better ways to handle this situation. Like most day care centers we are instituting a policy of charging fees for picking up students late.

  1. You should plan to pick up your child within 10 minutes of the end of class. For example, if your class started at 4:00, it should be over at 4:50 and you should pick up your children by 5:00. While our classes may sometimes run overtime they are never let out early. We will start timing from the time that we finish class.
  2. After the 10 minutes have expired we will charge you a late pick up fee of $1.00 per minute that you are late. That fee is due immediately.
  3. If you have made previous arrangements with us to return your child to Children's International School, Good Neighbor Montessori, or Children's Preschool Center, you do not need to worry about any late fees.

Refund Policy

  1. If after attending the first class the adult student or parent decides not to continue and notifies the school office at least 4 days prior to the second class, the adult student or parent will be refunded the full tuition. If the school office is not notified as above the adult student or parent is liable for the full tuition.
  2. If after attending the second class the adult student or parent decides not to continue and notifies the school office at least 4 days prior to the second class, the adult student or parent will be refunded the full tuition less the fees for the first two classes ($30) and a processing fee of $15. If the school office is not notified as above the adult student or parent is liable for the full tuition.
  3. No refunds are given after 4 days prior to the third class.
  4. Credits for future classes can be given instead of a tuition refund. They must be used at the next enrollment period or tuition is forfeited by the adult student or parent.
  5. Tuition credits will be given or a make-up class will be scheduled when the class is cancelled by the Peninsula Piano School.
  6. If the adult student or parent misses a class for any reason no credits or make-up classes will be given.
  7. No refunds are given for materials.
  8. The office of Peninsula Piano School may be notified by phone that a student will not be continuing, but a formal notification must be submitted in writing after the phone call. The written request must be postmarked within one week of the phone notification.

Missing a class?

If you have to miss a class you are encouraged to come to a different class that same week. Ask the teacher what days and times would be appropriate for you. We do not make tuition adjustments for just 1 or 2 absences, no matter how far in advance you let us know. If you have to miss more than 2 classes per 8 weeks I will be glad to adjust the tuition but only for 3 or more absences.

Missing a private lesson?

If you have to miss a private lesson you need to give the teacher notice 24 hours in advance. If you can't give us 24 hour notice, you still have to pay for the lesson.
